SOCIAL EQUITY OBJECTIVES

The Alcove is committed to following through on our Social Equity Objectives. It is our duty to give back to the communities we serve, and it is a privilege to be in a position where we are able to do so. Our mission is to support the development of affordable housing in minority communities. Members of our team have the necessary real estate and construction experience, having developed similar properties prior to entering the cannabis space. We look forward to using the proceeds from this venture to continue building upon this mission, and starting our own not for profit foundation focused on achieving this goal. 

We will also be working with The Last Prisoner Project, a group focused on ending incarceration for those convicted of nonviolent cannabis offenses. Customers will have the option to donate to The Last Prisoner Project at checkout. We as an organization intend to make an annual donation as well as host events throughout the year to give back to our local community.

COMMITMENT TO CHANGING THE STIGMA

The Alcove aims to change the stigma surrounding cannabis consumption. Stereotypes of who consumes cannabis have long plagued society. Our communities of color have been most affected. The Alcove has purposely strayed away from using language typically associated with cannabis or drug culture, in a deliberate attempt to shift the narrative. The Alcove will provide a classy, respectable establishment, where people of any background can come to socialize and enjoy a shared shopping experience. Cannabis knows no race, religion, skin color, creed, nor sexual orientation. We will show the world that everyone can enjoy cannabis.
